Below is shown a basic ring circuit for a UK House . The circuit is provided with a 32 A fuse /MCB in the consumer unit.
There is generally a separate ring circuit for upstairs, downstairs and the kitchen. The circuit shown includes two spurs one from a junction box and one from a
plug. socket.
Lighting Circuit
Below is shown a basic lighting circuit for a UK house. The circuit is provided with a 5 A fuse/MCB at the consumer unit.
Generally one lighting circuit is require for each floor
of a typical house.
Single Appliance Circuit
Below is shown single appliance circuit for a UK house. The circuit is provided with a 30 A fuse/MCB
at the consumer unit for a cooker of less than 16kW rating. For a cooker rated above 16kW a 45A fuse of 50AMCB is required.
Generally A single appliance unit is required for an electric cooker.
